Introducing the Green Voices Blog

As an environmental writer and principal of Your Green Voice, I’ve been fortunate to interview many men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting the piece of our planet they call home.

They are students, landowners, activists, wildlife rehabilitators, family farmers, entrepreneurs, green business executives, and others who put their energy—and their hearts—into conservation projects large and small.

Kids-Outdoors_Credit-USFWS_public-domainSome are city dwellers and some live in remote, rural places. They are young, old, and every age in between. What they all share is passion, commitment, and a willingness to get the job done. They make a big difference in a million small ways. They re-affirm what cultural anthropologist Margaret Mead once famously said: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can  change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

I firmly believe that the Green Voices  profiled here are people who can help solve the most pressing environmental challenges of our time, and leave this world a better place for future generations.

My goal in writing this blog is to introduce you to some of these folks. In meeting them, I hope you’ll be inspired to take action to protect your own corner of our planet. There are many ways to make a difference, whether you choose to write songs, plant trees, adopt a local stream, clean up trash by the roadside, or nurture a child’s connection to nature.

Is there someone who inspires you? A person you believe should be profiled here? I hope you’ll tell me  (and please don’t forget to include a way (address, phone, and e-mail) for me to reach them).
